Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area. Witha 60+ year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. PURPOSEThe Building Maintenance Technician II position, under limited supervision, performs with a high:level competency in at least one of the following fields: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry. This position is called upon to plan, troubleshoot, repair, and install new within his field of experience. JOB DUTIES 1. Performs high level maintenance and repairs on building interior and exterior.2. Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.3. Identifies and creates materials list and general planning required to complete job assignments.4. Troubleshoot problems and issues within their field of experience.5. Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.6. Responsible for the completion and accuracy of documentation related to assigned tasks.7. May be assigned tasks outside the scope of this job description. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Maintains awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library, with specific competency of general as well as related field documents.2. High school diploma/GED, with minimum 5 years experience in Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry or HVAC maintenance field or equivalent experience.3. Ability to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides.4. Familiarity with industrial manufacturing buildings and systems.5. Demonstrated high degree of industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and craftsman aptitude and repair abilities.6. Frequently lifts and/or move items over 35 pounds.7. Self:starter with the ability to work unsupervised.8. Advanced reading, writing and math skills.9. Ability to work effectively in a group (Team) environment.10. Effective written and verbal communication skills must be able to speak/read/write English.11. Must be willing to have flexible work hours.12. Full knowledge, understanding and ability to perform the duties of Building Maintenance Tech I.. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds with the assistance of others. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position must meet export control compliance requirements.
