The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with 5-10 years of experience preferred. The candidate should possess excellent client relationship management skills, trademark prosecution experience, and proficiency in trademark-related litigation. Duties:Cultivate and generate new client relationshipsManage new and existing client relationshipsConduct trademark availability searches using U.S. and international databasesPrepare and prosecute U.S. trademark applications and related documentsProsecute international trademarks via Madrid Protocol and Paris ConventionManage brand policing efforts and handle trademark watch noticesHandle TTAB actions and correspond with foreign associatesAssist with trademark-related litigation in state and federal courtsComplete Post-Registration Maintenance including Declarations of Use and IncontestabilityDesign and implement processes to enhance efficiencyHandle domain name registrations, transfers, and UDRP actionsMaintain trademark-related docket system Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice law in the District of Columbia or state of Michigan and the USPTO5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney (5-10 years preferred)Superior intellect and quick grasp of complex legal issuesStrong work ethic and organizational skillsProficiency in online legal research services and resourcesExcellent legal writing and oral communication skills Skills:Client relationship managementTrademark prosecutionTrademark litigationBrand policingTTAB proceedingsPost-registration maintenanceProcess design and implementationDomain name managementDocket system managementLegal researchLegal writingOral communication One of the largest and established law firms based in Michigan, with offices in Michigan and elsewhere, this firm has played and continues to play significant role in industrial and manufacturing industries in and around Detroit.
