Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an experienced Composite Prototype Technician to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Vehicle Engineering organization. Position is in Melbourne, Florida. Responsibilities Include: Composite material part layup and fabrication Fabrication, layup, coating, and operations of CNC machines, ovens and autoclaves Operates hand tools including drills, routers, and saws in high precision manufacturing processes including computer interface controls and light-duty bench or floor type machine tools Operates composite wet saw and surface grinder for test specimen preparation Operates forklifts Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances Basic Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to stand, kneel, and/or squat as needed Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications: 5 or more years laying up and fabricating composite parts Salary Range: $70,400 - $117,400The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
