Administrative Director Job Description:The Administrative Director is a key leadership role within our church, responsible forproviding strategic oversight and guidance to the church staff and congregation. TheAdministrative Director reports to the VBC elder board. This individual will work closelywith the elders, pastoral staff, and teaching team to ensure the effective and efficientoperation of the church, as well as the spiritual growth and development of thecongregation.Responsibilities:Spiritual Leadership:• Assist the pastoral staff in providing spiritual guidance and pastoral care to thecongregation.• Support and participate in worship services, teaching, and other ministry activities.• Oversee the Teaching Teamo Oversee the teaching team’s schedule of messages for the year.o Ensure teaching team plans live coverage for every Sunday.o Ensure the teaching team is being trained and growing as teachers.o Responsible for approving new teachers for each teaching venue during theirdevelopment as a teacher.Strategic Planning:Collaborate with the pastoral staff to develop and implement the church's strategic visionand goals.• Help define and execute long-term strategies for church growth and outreach.• Annually work with the elders and staff to determine VBC’s goals and vision/ biblicaltheme for the year (ex. 2024 - Unity in the body).• Ensure teaching team plans messages that tie into the annual theme.• Ensure music team plans songs that tie into the theme.• Ensure each staff member sets annual individual goals that would contribute toVBCs annual goals and biblical theme.• Monitor goal performance and provide feedback to improve performance.• Ensure the church calendar (including all ministry calendars) and schedule ofevents align with annual theme, goals, and vision. Review all ministry events forapproval.Staff Management:Oversee and provide direction to pastoral staff and administrative personnel. Foster aculture of teamwork, accountability, and professional development among the staff.Makes hiring and firing recommendations to the elders.Administrative Oversight:Manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the church, including budgeting,tracking to budget, oversee the Finance Team, and facilities. Ensure effectivecommunication and coordination between different church ministries. Responsible for thecreation and maintenance of church policies and procedures as well as ensuring thatbylaws and policies and procedures are being adhered to (PTO requests, building usage,etc.). Hold staff accountable to their individual goals, responsibilities, deliverables anddevelop performance improvement plans as necessary.Outreach and Community Engagement:Develop and implement outreach programs to serve the community and share the love ofChrist. Collaborate with local organizations and ministries to expand the church's impact.CommunicationCommunications:Oversee and direct VBC’s Communication. Ensure all communication (Sundayannouncements, website, social media, newsletter, etc.) is aligned and coordinated.Approve of all content that is communicated well in advance of publication.Ministry Development:Work with ministry leaders to plan and execute programs, events, and services that alignwith the church's mission. Equip and empower ministry teams to achieve their goals.Oversee weekly staff meetings and associated staff development. Implement VBC’s goalsand vision/ biblical theme for the year into action plans for each area of ministry.Oversee Sunday services at all campuses:• Responsible for the flow of service each week. Ensure prayer coverage. Ensure staffand elder coverage (manage staff PTO to ensure adequate Sunday coverage).• Oversee announcements (identifying what should and should not be included eachweek and associated content).• Oversee security. Ensure staff coverage for opening and closing of building onSundays.• Oversee greeter leads, communion leads, and coffee leads. Ensure all welcomecarts/greeters are staffed. Ensure prayer team coverage.Qualifications:• Possess a M.A. or Bachelors in business or business related field.• Minimum 4 years experience in business administration.• Competent in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Suite. Ability to learn newapplications including Planning Center.• Knowledge of Human Resources policies, regulations, and best practices includinghiring, onboarding, dismissals.• Financial acumen, including knowledge of budget development and financialreporting.• Adhere to and agree with VBC Doctrines.• Meet the qualifications of an elder as described in Titus 1:6-8 and 1 Tim 3:1-7.• A committed Christian with a strong personal faith and a calling to pastoralministry.• Proven experience in a pastoral or leadership role within a church.• Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of building and leadingteams.• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.• Understanding of church administration and financial management.• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.• A heart for community outreach and service.
