Intern, Mechanical Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: The Mitsubishi Electric US Heating and Air Conditioning division designs and manufactures heat pump systems and controls for the North American market. We are looking for summer interns interested in working with us on a potentially annual basis. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following: Currently pursuing Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related fields. A college student with at least 1 year of school completed. Must be able to work 40 hours a week in our Suwanee, GA office, Monday through Friday for a summer internship. Duties include but not limited to working on design, simulation, and test of the world's most efficient air handlers. Training may include: 3-D modeling (PTC Creo) 2-D diagrams for manufacturing (AutoCAD) HVAC system test setup and monitoring CFD simulation for air and refrigerant flow (Ansys) Structural analysis (Ansys) To be a great fit for the role: Enjoys a fast-paced environment with different challenges daily Thrives in a hands-on work environment Ability and desire to present ideas and make proposals to engineering and management Good communication skills Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Preferred Education/Experience/Training: Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Self-directed regarding project goals. Candidates should have an interest in applying their technical knowledge to business processes. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $15.39/hr and $21.16/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
