Summary Children's Journey Preschool has been serving the community since 1972. Come join a team of wonderful and passionate early childhood education professionals as we celebrate 50 years of serving the Winter Park Community!Our Preschool is growing and we'd like to welcome you to our team. We are currently seeking full-time and part-time Assistant Teachers to work with various age groups from Infant through five-years of age. Duties assist in implementing classroom curriculum (Frog Street)Display excellent verbal and written communication skillsProvide children with a nurturing and safe environment where they feel loved and connected to their caregiversPractice classroom management techniques that align with the Preschool's positive guidance policiesUnderstand and implement developmentally appropriate practices with childrenCommunicate regularly and effectively with administration and other staff membersEstablish strong parent and family relationshipsMust be able to multi-task and exhibit great organizational skillsMust be able to understand and implement policies and procedures at all timesCandidate must be flexible and be able to respond to change as neededBe a team player and open to learning new thingsUphold the vision and philosophy of Children's Journey Preschool Requirements Shift Availability: 9:00am - 6:00pm with an hour break, or part-time afternoons-6:00pm.Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting (required for current openings) Completed 45 hours through DCF (preferred, but we will accept the right candidate who is still working on this) CPR and First-aid certified (preferred) Physical Requirements: Be able to stand on your feet for up to 90% of the dayCapable of lifting up to 50 poundsSit on the floor and scrunch down to meet any child's needsPerform all activities with the children, including running, jumping etc. Nice To Haves CDA (bonus, but not required) Reliable to work assigned shift (required) Current DCF approved background check completed (preferred, but can be obtained once hired) Benefits Ability to bring creativity and fun into the classroomCompetitive pay scale based on years of experience and education levelNights, weekends, and major holidays offPaid holidays after 90 days of servicePaid time off beginning at 90 days (3 days) and increasing at 6 months (3 additional days)Vacation days after 1 year of service and increasing annuallyFree childcare for birth - 5 and school age children (during school breaks)Fun team building events and opportunitiesTuition assistance for programs related to the Early Childhood Education fieldSign on bonus of $150.00 when you join the teamAdditional retention bonus of $300.00 when you've been with us for 6 months
