Description:
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations of seafarers onboard the cruise ship - Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed- Perform minor surgical procedures, such as suturing and wound care- Provide health education and counseling to seafarers on topics such as disease prevention, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols- Participate in on-board emergency response drills and provide immediate medical care in case of emergencies- Conduct health and safety training for crew members as needed- Communicate effectively with ship's officers and crew members to ensure a safe and healthy working environmentRequirements:- Master's degree in Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner- Current state nursing license and certification as a Nurse Practitioner- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting- Experience in emergency or critical care is preferred- Familiarity with maritime health and safety regulations is a plus- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Willingness to travel and work on board ships for extended periods of time- Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas for international travel
