They are what we believe, what customers expect, and how we deliver. Project Overview Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers. Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Position Summary Bechtel is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support Project Cardinal within the Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit. Responsibilities : Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements: Coordinate engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups: When delegated, assumes a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks: Assists in on:the:job:training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluations: Performs or assists in the performance of problem analysis and original design: Reviews and checks work of subordinate engineers: Reviews mechanical, fire protection, life safety systems design, and engineering studies prepared by other engineering firms: Provide guidance and ensures engineering quality design and compliance with project requirements, local design guidelines, local codes, and standards of independent engineering firms that are carrying out the detailed engineering design: Coordinate and visit jobsite as required, to resolve problems, interpret drawings and documentand provide technical support during the construction phase: Represent the client in technical meetings and Value Engineering analysis. Coordinates with other disciplines, consultants and attends project meetings: Review contractors shop drawings, technical queries, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design documents: Understand customer requirements and converting them into design criteria for mechanical systems manufacturing process: Develop schematic and conceptual designs for fire protection systems: Produce key mechanical / fire protection engineering deliverables, including CADD models, drawings, specifications, and supporting calculations: Managing
