Full Time Role 3rd shift Monday to Friday - 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. No scheduled holidays or weekends. May occassionally be asked to help cover shifts when shifts are open. Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.Facilities Engineering maintains 6 million square foot of facilities dedicated to clinical and academic functions. Facilities Engineering is comprised of 150 professionals, including engineers, MEP mechanics, building finishes and support staff. The Facilities and Engineering department at Barnes Jewish Hospital is a progressive, innovative department which stresses employee involvement, continued education/training and opportunities for advancement. Consistent customer and staff satisfaction surveys reflect a continuous rating in the upper 90% and staff responses to ''intent to continue employment at BJH'' rating in the upper 90%. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides leadership to maintain the building systems. Assist the Supervisor in work assignment priorities, work schedules and works with employees as a team on assignments. Ensures timely completion of work request and responds to emergencies. Ensures appropriate safety gear and precautions are utilized. Insures shop supplies and inventory level is maintained so that work is never interrupted for out of stock supplies. Is capable of accomplishing the most difficult repairs and overhauls on any of the equipment in any facility in the system. Responsibilities Coordinates work requests, responds to emergencies and provides leadership for shop craftsman under the direction of the supervisor. Ensures all routine, safety and rounds work orders are completed and closed. Repairs, maintains and overhauls mechanical equipment. Performs all aspects of routine and critical equipment preventative maintenance on schedule and in accordance with department standards.
