Job Description Lab Operations Manager- Montgomery City, MOThis is a full-time, exempt position.The Animal Nutrition division is part of the ADM's global Nutrition business with its human nutrition and health & wellness divisions. The Global Animal Nutrition Science and Technology team is focused on development of cutting-edge technologies to provide science-based solutions to our customers in the animal nutrition industryADM is seeking a laboratory manager, located at our research facility in Montgomery City, MO. The successful candidate will have experience managing a small laboratory preferably with experience with analyses common in the animal nutrition industry. Knowledge and experience in running chemical and/or biochemical assays is desired. In this role the candidate will work cross-functionally with other scientists, farm operations personnel, and scientific leaders to support multiple projects across species. The lab manager will lead a small team (1-2 individuals) to execute sample analyses. The manager will also be responsible for managing all laboratory safety protocols and maintaining standard operating procedures.Your ResponsibilitiesLead laboratory analyses of samples from animal nutrition studies as well as feed additives and ingredientsPerform biological sample processing and analyses in support of new product developmentLead and manage all laboratory safety procedures and protocolsMaintain laboratory standard operating procedures for all analysesCoordinate data collection and reporting from internal research investigations and outside laboratoriesDeliver data and technical reports to project leadersMonitor scientific literature for new techniques and technical approachesYour ProfileB.S. in relevant area (e.g. animal nutrition, chemistry, biology, microbiology) Working knowledge of standard lab equipment (centrifuges, analytical scales, light microscopy)Experience with maintaining laboratory safety procedures and protocols with a focus on continuous improvementFamiliarity with analytical equipment such as GC, HPLC, and NIRDemonstrated ability to execute and interpret laboratory experimentsWillingness to work with biological materials and samplesWorking knowledge of livestock food ingredients and/or food chemistryDemonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communicationAbility to communicate to diverse audiences including technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong affinity for lab work in industrial environments; results-oriented mind setExcellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Team player and able to work in global, multidisciplinary teamsOur OfferChallenging work, short decision-making processes and a high level of personal responsibility in a modern work environment with flexible work time modelsRoom for innovative thinking and growth with the possibility to manage your own career pathA company culture which promotes continuous learning and diversityExcellent career opportunities in a world leading nutrition companyAn attractive remuneration including a variety of social benefits like subsidized health & fitness offersLearn more about ADM at www.adm.com.We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and value diversity at our company.
