A bit about us : I am a single mom working from home two days a week and I share custody with my son’s father. I love hiking and reading to my son. We like to go for adventures and explore cultural festivals. I am big on routine as a parent, but I can also be spontaneous and flexible. I am laid back and not a micromanager. I will be out of your hair when I work from home. After work, it would be my dream to spend a little quality time with my son while our fabulous nanny preps dinner and cleans up the kitchen. Looking forward to meeting you! My almost 2-year-old son is incredibly sweet and good-natured for a toddler. He would like a nanny who is silly and warm. He is loving, social, and affectionate. He is a talker and great at communicating. He’s also a great eater and enjoys food from many cultures; he has eaten lots of Indian food and knows a few Punjabi words thanks to his Grandma. A bit about you: Your two best traits are that you are reliable and proactive. You are friendly and easy to talk to! Coming up with activities and fun outdoor ideas is a breeze for you! You love the outdoors and are willing to sing, dance, and read with my son. You value schedule and routine. You are great at helping toddlers learn to be more independent and use positive reinforcement which is very effective on my child. Job Duties: Diaper changes, potty training, bottle washing, preparing child meals, planning a variety of age-appropriate activities, reading, ensuring safety, taking him to the park near our home, taking him to the pool, taking him to the library, fostering independence, helping him learn to dress and feed himself, cleaning dishes throughout the day, an occasional load of baby laundry, sweeping the floor (every other day), moving items out of the way to use the Roomba, light cleaning, dinner prep for child and mom, and occasionally driving to the grocery store to pick up a few groceries. Position Highlights : Guaranteed Hours (40 a week) Long-term job security (1 year) W-2 payroll Overtime Pay (5-6 hours every week) Some Sick Pay/Paid Time Off Great, walkable community with parks, pools, and creeks to explore Free parking at our apartment building Gas mileage reimbursement Access to amenities: Gym, pool and hot tub Dander-free home (no pets Qualifications : 2 years of childcare experience with toddlers, potty training experience, clean driving record, reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, CPR certification, basic/intermediate cooking skills, and basic swim ability. Must be comfortable driving and dropping my son off at his dad’s home in Sunnyvale which is about 15 min away. Set yourself apart : You are advanced at cooking a variety of foods, have experience setting up activities or playdates, have experience working with divorced parents, and/or have a community of nannies or moms/dads to get together with! If you like to wrestle, that would be my son’s bonus activity! Schedule (approximate): Monday-Friday (8a-5:30p) *Actual schedule is 40 hours a week total Starting ASAP! *Hours will vary some due to a specific custody schedule with earlier mornings such as 7:15a start time and later evenings such as 6p on a couple days a week. The schedule will be provided in advance. Pay: $30-$35 an hour **All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired. This job is not visa eligible. *Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time.
