A bit about us: We’re an open-minded, very loving, multi-ethnic family who will soon be a party of 4! I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Critical Race Theory and teaching while my husband is getting his Master's degree in Fine Arts. We are liberal and creative! We are a little “granola” and eat healthy (unprocessed) food, avoid screen time, and love practicing attachment parenting. Our almost 2-year-old loves music, dancing, and art; she has her own little easel! Her grandma used to be an opera singer and she loves listening to people sing and drumming. She would like a nanny who is musical, likes painting, and loves the outdoors! Our bun in the oven is due in September so initially you’ll just be caring for our toddler and helping me through the end of my pregnancy. We are so excited to meet her! A bit about you: You are kind, patient, and attentive. You enjoy being outside with children and getting your vitamin D! You’re someone who is both caring and professional with healthy boundaries. You are adept at multi-tasking and keeping your cool with two under 2. You’re comfortable with a nanny position that involves the parents in a co-care relationship when available, and you are open to the notion of traveling with the family down the road. You adore working with both toddlers and infants and exploring the world with them. You are flexible and accommodating with the parenting style which does not allow the “Cry it out” method or screen time. Working with a racially-aware family who loves the arts is your perfect match! Job Duties : Engage baby and toddler in age-appropriate play, help them reach their developmental milestones, ensure safety, change diapers, potty training, stroller walks, outdoor playtime, carry one of them in a carrier for naps sometimes, Mommy’s helper when Mom is home to breastfeed, feeding baby pre-made purees and healthy meal prep, grocery shopping, driving children and driving for errands, following guidance around naps, etc., child laundry, child-related cleaning, vacuuming the play area and light tidying. The job will likely include traveling to Italy with the family and continuing to care for the children in the summer of 2025 for approximately a month (with notice). Position Highlights : Long-term job security Guaranteed hours Paid holidays Health insurance stipend (negotiable) Opportunity for travel PTO/Sick pay Qualifications : 4 years of combined professional childcare experience total (1-2 years specifically with toddlers and 2 specifically with infants), and/or infant sibling care, infant CPR certification, clean driving record, and background check, amenable to take a Drug Screen if requested, basic cooking skills as long as it’s healthy, can accommodate carrying the baby in a carrier and willing to get a passport and/or renew a passport. Set yourself apart : You are an art-lover, a sun-worshiper, you are bilingual (Spanish/English or French/English), and/or excel at cooking healthy meals. Schedule: Monday-Friday (9a-5p) *Could be flexible with alternate start and end times if needed Starting June 25, 2024! Anticipated duration: June 2024-December 2025 (18 months) Pay: $30-$35 an hour **All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired. This job is not visa eligible. *Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time.
