Our Professional Liability Claims team is looking for a new Claims Assistant who has experience in providing administrative support, alongside our Liability Claims Representatives, in support of our members. We are a fast-paced team supporting our members and work as a team collaboratively across our four work locations in California. If you have experience with liability claims, preferably in the healthcare industry, we are looking for you. ABOUT THE ROLE: This is an hourly non-exempt and entry-level position in our Liability Claims Department and allows for telecommuting up to three days a week from home but must be a commutable distance near our Glendale office. You will work closely in a team environment and report to the Claims Operations Supervisor, Professional Liability. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: * Primarily performs data entry, which may include closing electronic files and entering financial transactions such as invoices, check requests and payment information* Processes paper and electronic invoices for payment* Prints and reviews regular reports regarding invoices and payments* Coordinates the generation of payments with the Finance Department* Prepares and processes monthly deductible invoices* Reconciles bills and payments for closed files* Works directly with the Finance Department to resolve discrepancies in claims expenses, outstanding items and deposits* Works directly with vendor representatives regarding past due and incorrect bills* Processes, scans, and imports incoming paper and electronic mail on a regular rotation* May process incoming deliveries and prepare outgoing mail and shipments, including overnight packages* May prepare correspondence and copies of documents or other items, as needed* May manage petty cash as needed* May run office errands as needed* May coordinate/facilitate office lunches/meetings as needed* May assist Facilities with office and kitchen supplies and maintenance issues as needed* Other duties as requested QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or G.E.D required* Minimum one (1) years' experience as an Administrative Assistant or claims assistant preferred* Working experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred* Familiarity with electronic document management preferred* Effective communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment* Good organizational skills and attention to detail* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines* Self-motivated, organized and accurate* Ability to work in hybrid environment: both remote and required days in office* Ability to maintain confidentiality of internal recordsHiring base salary range: Up to $54,000 annually depending on experience* Note the amount listed is the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this position.
