The Social Media Coordinator role for JAPONESQUE is an opportunity to join a disruptive, digitally savvy beauty company to support our social media strategy and execution. • Who you are: You are a Beauty Enthusiast! You know the latest trends in skincare and makeup, are very engaged on social media, thrive in front of the camera, and have an eye for spotting amazing content and talent to support. You live and breathe social media with an always-on mentality, are an early adopter of digital technologies, and have strong knowledge of social media best practices. You’ve worked with social media management tools before. You have a deep understanding of the “ins and outs” of prime social media platforms - TikTok, Instagram -- and how to create platform-specific content for these channels. You love to come up with new ideas, and you’re able to bring creative ideas to the table. General Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Portfolio Content Strategy, the Social Media Coordinator will primarily support the social, influencer, and content planning for the JAPONESQUE Brand, as well as support the product sampling needed to support trial and brand strategy. Social Channel Planning, Management & Execution • Develop, own, and execute the social media calendar; ensure the plan is aligned to the brand-level marketing calendar in a timely and consistent manner. • Manage day-to-day publishing across all social media channels i.e Instagram, Instagram Stories, Threads, Tik Tok, Facebook etc. • Work closely with Senior Manager to highlight any new launches or marketing campaigns through social content. • Write compelling copy and captions aligned to the brand voice and ensure all social media content adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining a cohesive visual and messaging identity. • Source and collaborate with other brands on monthly social partnerships. • Maintain a pulse on trends, pop culture, current events, competitors, and social media best practices, identifying key opportunities for Japonesque participation. • Regularly analyze and monitor social media performance metrics, providing insights, regular reports and recommendations to optimize future strategies. Content Creation & Sourcing • Lead Ideation, development, and execution of compelling, high-quality social-first content with the ability to have an on-camera presence. • Concept and strategize using key learnings for monthly themes, hashtag holidays, seasonal trends, and giveaways. • Ideate, brief, and track weekly content in collaboration with in-house creative team to create impactful content that’s fresh, relevant, disruptive, and seasonal. • Develop engaging and creative content for various social media platforms, aligned with our brand voice and messaging. • Continuously monitor social trends and use said trends to inform new content. Social Media Community Management • Foster a positive and engaged online community by responding to inquiries, comments, and messages in a timely and professional manner. • Engage daily on social media accounts to improve engagement rates & establish relationships with new and existing communities. • Continue to engage with our influencers content on Instagram or Tik Tok by liking, commenting, and sharing their branded content. Influencer Management • Support influencer shipments for paid and always on PR mailers. • Help draft content briefs for in house creative and content creators to execute. • Maintain and organize an up-to-date brand partner and influencer database. • Contribute to identification of brand-relevant influencers for paid and unpaid programming. • Discover, maintain, and organize an influencer send list for always-on mailer campaigns to support new and existing products. • Review and approve incoming UGC via third party platforms. • Monitor, respond and organize incoming influencer requests via email, DMs and landing pages • Manage product inventory to support influencer programs as well as sales sample requirements. Create and manage shipment tracker to support all sample needs and oversee execution of shipments for our brands. Asset Management • Responsible for management and organization of assets released from Marketing and all social/influencer assets. • Supports the Marketing Department with other projects as needed. May include video tutorial development, photoshoot support, event support, talent recruitment and/or education and content creation. Essential Skills & Characteristics: • Must have excellent communication skills both through digital tools and IRL. • Ability to work in San Ramon office 2 days per week. • Well-versed in social media platforms and have a deep understanding of platform tools (ex. TikTok and IG Stories/Reels, Cap Cut, Canva and basic video editing etc.) • Self-starter who is comfortable owning and driving projects involving multiple deliverables and quick turnaround time. • Trend savvy with a deep understanding of Tik Tok trends, viral audios etc. • Proven experience in managing social media accounts for a brand, including content creation and scheduling. • Creative mindset with a strong eye for design and aesthetics. • Passion for the beauty and skincare industry strongly preferred. • Experience creating and editing content within Instagram, TikTok and editing platforms preferred. • Experience with Photoshop and/or Adobe tools a plus.
