Practice Area: Employment Law - General,Employment Law - Traditional Labor Law (Unions),Litigation - Labor & Employment, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm is seeking a Labor And Employment Associate Attorney with the following qualifications:Job Overview:The Labor And Employment Associate Attorney will be responsible for performing legal research, drafting and managing discovery, creating legal documents, attending hearings, participating in depositions, drafting responses to EEOC and MDCR Charges, and providing support and assistance to partner-level litigation attorneys during all phases of employment-related litigation and traditional labor matters.Duties:Conduct thorough and high-quality legal researchAssist with all areas of discovery, including drafting requests and responses, preparation of initial disclosures, and witness preparationPrepare legal briefs and other pleadings.Work with partner-level attorneys to determine documents and information to produce, manner of production, and selection of vendorsDraft responses to EEOC and MDCR chargesHandle various aspects of employment-related litigation, such as motion hearings, mediations, and depositionsPrepare trial materialsAttend and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedingsRequirements:2-4 years of experience in employment-related litigation and client counselingExcellent research and writing skillsGood organizational and project management skillsExperience in managing discoveryExperience in taking and defending depositionsProficient in the use of online legal research services and legal resources available on the internet, including WestlawExcellent communication skills (both oral and written)Experience in traditional labor matters is a plusMust be a graduate of an accredited law schoolAdmitted to the Michigan State Bar or eligible to promptly become admittedEducation and Certifications:Graduate of an accredited law schoolAdmitted to the Michigan State Bar or eligible to promptly become admittedSkills:Legal researchDiscovery managementDrafting legal documentsClient counselingDepositionsTrial preparationCommunicationProject management One of the largest and established law firms based in Michigan, with offices in Michigan and elsewhere, this firm has played and continues to play significant role in industrial and manufacturing industries in and around Detroit.
