Job DescriptionSr Technical Data StewardJob Description Senior Technical Data Steward - Data Governance Location: Santa Clara, CA Your goal Improve the education process and better the lives of millions of students by supporting data managementand data literacy @Chegg. This position will help support the company's decision-making capabilities through data programs that improve collection and ownership of data. The Team The Chegg Data Governance Team1. Responsible for the maintenance and understanding of data and metadata, making sure that changes are documented and communicated. 2. Develops Data Standards 3. Metadata management: establish processes for data ownership, data quality and metadata to support self-serve analytics. 4. Oversees and maintain data quality in partnership with data owners to identify sources of truth and deprecate obsolete datasets 5. Handles communications on relevant data announcements 6. Supports regulatory data requirements What we're looking for in a Technical Data Steward1. Problem solving skills: you break down complex issues and contribute to finding the best solutions for these issues.2. Ownership: you will be responsible for programs that assure quality and trust in data, create standard definitions across the company and maintain consistency of data documentation.3. Solid communication: You are a solid communicator who evangelizes best practices and embraces feedback. You are an advocate for user education to improve data literacy in the company. 4. Strategic thinking and visioning: Think about the big picture and end-to-end flows. 5. Collaborative: You will be in close collaboration with product leads, engineers, data scientists, analysts, BI engineers, data engineers etc. 6. Fearless growth mindset: Able to challenge the status quo. Be proactive and reflective about work and personal growth. Have a perspective but listen to feedback. No big ego, when something surprises you, embrace it and learn from it. 7. Thought leadership: Develop expert-level knowledge of data governance and data management best practices, technologies, and bring new ideas to the team. 8. Add to culture: Help create the team we all want to be on. Teach what you know and help people share their knowledge. Requirements 1. 4+ years' experience in Data Management 2. Strong understanding of Databases, Data Models and Data Warehousing concepts 3. Expertise with data documentation, definitions, and quality requirements 4. Expert level SQL skills 5. Experience with data management and data quality tools (Alation, Atlan, Collibra, Great Expectations, etc) Preferred * CDMP certification The pay range for this position is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
