Lab Tech II Minimum Salary US-MA-Worcester Job Location 4 days ago(4/19/2024 4:10 PM) Requisition Number 2023-44405 # of Openings 1 Posted Date Day Shift Non Exempt Exempt/Non-Exempt Status Non Union Position-W25-Non Unit Classified Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Laboratory Technician II is responsible for the maintenance of daily laboratory operations, performing a wide variety of research and/or development laboratory tasks and experiments and maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Asceptically cultures common mammalian cell linesVials biological materialPacks and ships temperature-sensitive biological materialKeeps track of and maintains inventoryPerforms autoclaving of biohazard wasteWashes and autoclaves glasswareMaintains lab stocks of general consumablesAssists with buffer and media preparationMonitors and maintains all equipment, ensures that general preventative maintenance is conductedDevelops new more time effective approaches to maintaining the day-to-day operations of the laboratoryPerforms additional job duties as required Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Requires an Associate degree with a minimum 0-2 years of relevant experienceAbility to follow verbal and written instructions preciselyDemonstrated ability to recognize deviations from standard procedures and initiate appropriate corrective actionAbility to troubleshoot within scope of trainingComputer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel and other relevant electronic systems Demonstrated ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlinesPossesses strong attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate written recordsAbility to communicate effectively with othersAbility to work effectively both independently and as a member of a teamMust be able to lift 35 lbs
