Summary The Department of Psychiatry maintains a large and diverse portfolio of research that is dedicated to increasing our knowledge of depression, bipolar, and anxiety disorders, addiction/substance use, and other brain conditions. Our funding comes from many different sources including the National Institutes of Health, State of Michigan, foundations, and industry. We are a large team dedicated to supporting our faculty in all aspects of research administration from proposal planning and submission to post-award project management and closeout. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Administrator to join our team in Psychiatry Grants Administration. The successful candidate will support faculty portfolios of sponsored research proposals and projects while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and University policies. We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude, is eager to learn, and has a passion for providing exceptional customer service to our faculty, project teams, and colleagues within the Department, Medical School, and University. Activities include but are not necessarily limited to developing budgets, budget justifications, preparaing Proposal Approval forms, and other core financial and administrative documents in support of both internal and external grant proposal submissions. Ensure that all applications meet agency and university guidelines, while meeting internal and external deadlines. Perform post-award administrative activities for assigned faculty. Activities include but are not necessary limited to reconciling, analyzing, and maintaining grant accounts, including trending and forecasting expenses and funding, involving cost shares; monitoring Uniform Guidance expenses; processing budget reallocations, Post Award Change Requests, Financial Status Reports, and Uniform Guidance Reports; administer subcontracts; and investigate/resolve discrepencies. Required Qualifications* To be considered for this position, all applicants must: Have strong computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional. Have excellent organizational skills including the ability to set priorities and manage competing deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Exhibit sound judgement while completing tasks timely with meticulous attention to detail. have exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to follow-up on open issues through appropriate resolution. have a positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service in all aspects off the work. have an understanding of accounting rules and Uniform Guidance principles. To be considered for the Research Administrator Senior Level, applicants must also have: A Bachelor's Degree, and; Five or more years of grant or contract administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. To be considered for the Research Administrator Intermediate Level, applicants must also have: A Bachelor's Degree, and; Three or more years of grant or contract administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Qualifications* A Master's Degree in Research Administration, Health Administration, Public Administration, Business, or a related field. Certified Research Administrator (CRA) Experience with both pre- and post- award research administration within the University of Michigan. Advanced Excel Skills Prior experience with M-Pathways, Business Objects, M-Reports, and the University's eResearch Proposal Management system. Work Schedule This position will be full time, with standard hours worked typically being Monday - Friday. Specific work hours are negotiable. Work Locations This position will be fully remote.
