Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your very first day 2:1 Match on retirement savings Responsibilities* BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY Performs non-invasive procedures which include Holter monitoring, electrocardiograms. Obtains measurements and performs calculations as needed during testing.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential: Performs moderate to complex clinical analysis specific to cardiac monitoring (12 lead and 3 channel Holter monitoring), and all related EKG Services. Set up certain devices to the patient and the transmission of the recorded information to the data base or analysis system. Coordination of problem resolution between device and vendors. RELATED DUTIES Perform other related duties as assigned, as related to department services. Placement of Cardiac Device monitors EKG placement for inpatient and outpatient SUPERVISION RECEIVED Supervision is received from Adult EKG lab administrative manager. SUPERVISION EXCERCISED Functional supervision may be exercised over other EKG Technicians. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRequires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients Required Qualifications* Minimum 1 years? experience as an EKG Technician or in a Cardiac Department setting. High school graduation with coursework in the physical and biological sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Experience in EKG interpretation, to include Pacemaker and complex rhythm recognition, is required. BCLS certification is required within three months of hire Excellent organizational skills to include thorough documentation of medical information in patient records and chart, verbal and written communication. Experience in independent decision making for patients with various cardiac diseases. Desired Qualifications* Exposure to a Cardiology setting (departmental, clinic, testing, etc.). Satisfactory completion of college courses in the physical and biological sciences. Certification by the appropriate agency, with the possibility of being a future requirement. Proficient computer skills including: MiChart, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of the University of Michigan Hospital policies and practice. Union Affiliation This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment. Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
