Orchestra BioMed has a strategic collaboration with Medtronic for the development and global commercialization of BackBeat CNT for the treatment of hypertensive patients indicated for a pacemaker and strategic partnership with Terumo for the development and global commercialization of Virtue SAB for the treatment of coronary and peripheral artery disease. Job Summary The Sr. Manager is a “hands-On” team member who will be reporting to the VP, Finance and Corporate Controller. This person will ensure that period-end close procedures are complete and accurate, that Orchestra BioMed is compliant with SOX 404a, and follows SEC regulations. The Sr. Manager is a people manager and is responsible for reviewing account reconciliations, accounting memos, journal entries, and making recommendations for process improvements. They will also participate in financial audits, supporting tax matters, coordinate complex accounting projects, and prepare certain financial reports. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of an average of three days per week in our New Hope, PA office. Role and Responsibilities – Including but not limited to: Assists VP, Finance and Corporate Controller with period-end close procedures and monthly accounting operations. Reviews accounts reconciliation, as required, on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Provide oversight and ensure an effective internal control environment in support of SOX 404a Prepare/review certain audit deliverables to ensure timeliness and accuracy Identifying process inefficiencies, recommending efficient process alternatives, and facilitating the implementation of the improvements Coordinate non-routine accounting projects and initiatives with members of the Finance/Accounting team or with other departments in the company Research and document new SEC rules and regulations, SEC and accounting pronouncements and internal technical issues and assist in implementation of solutions Provide oversight for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Perform advanced accounting functions within accounting software. Build and present reports to management on a quarterly, monthly and annual basis (or as required) Other responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs and employee’s skillset. Qualifications – Knowledge & Skills: BS/BA, Accounting or Finance Certified Public Accounting required. Experience working for a public accounting firm preferred. Experience working for a Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutical or Pharmaceutical company preferred. 7+ years’ experience of accounting experience (combination of audit, consulting and/or industry experience with a publicly traded company) Experience with SOX/internal control environment and demonstrated ability to implement and maintain financial controls and accounting procedures. Strong understanding of Accrual Basis Accounting and GAAP Excellent skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow with a high degree of detail. Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize effectively while working independently and as manager and team member. Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications, willingness to assist in areas outside of direct assignments when necessary. A current US work authorization is required.
