About the Job: The Toyota Lean Management (TLM) Manager leads management consulting services associated with defining, executing and evaluating key operational strategies for organizations across the TICO enterprise. In addition, they provide similar level consulting services for non-TICO third party companies who have interest in adopting the Toyota Industries approach to setting and executing business strategy (Hoshin) and process optimization (TPS principles). The TLM Manager is directly involved with top executives at dealers and other TICO organizations and is responsible for teaching and consulting on the best approaches to leading, managing and optimizing their businesses. What You'll Be Doing: In this role you will perform functions including: Leads engagement and consulting activities to help business leaders define and set strategy, plan key initiatives and then measure and manage results. Develops the strategy for North American TLM initiatives according to TMH's strategic plan or Hoshin Kanri and the Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG) vision for Toyota Lean Logistics Program (TLLP) Supports Toyota affiliate companies with Lean implementation and continuous improvement culture enhancement Manages the relationship with both customers and North American dealer principals and key executive stakeholders to develop high value-add strategies and alignment toward customized business improvement solutions in various industries Casts the vision for the TLM roadmap to train and support Champions and Leaders to implement 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Just In Time, Jidoka, KPI management Builds trust with Champions and Leaders in order to facilitate continuous improvement culture (kaizen) Prepares and leads process discovery and requirement workshops - process or value stream mapping - with key stakeholders to identify current condition and improvement opportunities to gain efficiency, sustainability Clearly articulates and applies complicated Lean concepts in order to solve problems - regardless of customer industry Leverages experience to coach customers - executives and managers - to build and lead Lean culture and business improvement implementation Maintains customer relationships by delivering value add to their business needs Juggles multiple complex projects or initiatives and customer deliverables concurrently Responsible for team career development, succession planning, and maintaining the organization to support the business needs into the future What We're Looking For: * 15+ years of senior leadership experience is required leading multiple functions including Operations, Supply Chain, Production Control, Quality Management, or Engineering in a TPS/Lean practicing organization* 10+ years of Lean experience from a TPS/Lean environment, emphasizing developing human capital and total company culture over dispatching experts to solve problems and drive change* Experience sustaining and promoting Lean culture as a senior leader, Lean Advisor or Continuous Improvement Manager of Business Improvement or Lean Consulting* Experience communicating, coaching and providing both praise and constructive criticism to executive level management* Deep academic understanding and application experience of key Lean concepts: 5S, Standard Work, Just In Time (JIT), Jidoka, Visual Management, One Piece Flow, Kaizen, Asaichi/Loop communication, Hoshin Kanri, S&OP is required* Experience leading up, down and across mid to large organizations.
