JOB DESCRIPTION Pay: 16.00 hrlyGeneral Description and Classification StandardsThe Summer Intern in Capital Delivery at the Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) will work alongside our Capital Delivery team to gain hands-on experience in managing and executing infrastructure improvement projects throughout the city of Atlanta. This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of vital transportation infrastructure while learning from experienced professionals in the field.Supervision Received :Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties & Responsibilities:1. Project Support: Assist project managers in the planning, execution, and completion of capital projects, including road construction, bridge maintenance, and traffic signal installations. 2. Documentation: Help maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and change orders. 3. Fieldwork: Participate in site visits to observe construction activities, conduct inspections, and document project progress. 4. Data Analysis: Analyze project data to track performance metrics, monitor project budgets, and identify areas for improvement. 5. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and city officials to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget while adhering to regulatory requirements. 6. Reporting: Assist in preparing regular project status reports, presentations, and updates for departmental meetings and stakeholders. 7. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline project delivery processes and improve efficiency within the Capital Delivery team. 8. Community Engagement: Support outreach efforts to engage with residents and stakeholders affected by capital projects, providing information and addressing concerns as needed.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:This internship provides valuable insights into the dynamic field of communications and offers hands-on experience in a collaborative and innovative environment. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field. 2. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation. 3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. 4. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and reporting. 5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment. 7. Demonstrated interest in transportation infrastructure and urban development.
