For the people, and the future!” Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award two-time recipient from INSIGHT into Diversity (2022,2023) The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, New Mexico seeks applications from qualified physicians (DO or MD) of any academic rank for the position of Faculty, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). A U.S. medical license and Board certification or eligibility in NMM/OMM or equivalent, or any specialty with “+OMT” are required. Previous academic experience is a plus, but not required. Faculty development in all areas of responsibility will be provided. The candidate must have a desire to join a collaborative teaching team working to help train the next generation of compassionate and competent osteopathic physicians, in an integrated curriculum environment, with a focus toward practical applications in clinical care, and caring for the underserved. The selected candidate will subscribe to and support our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability. This position's start date is August 5, 2024 (negotiable). Responsibilities include: Preparing and giving lecture and laboratory presentations in electronic and live format Skills training in the OMM laboratory Facilitating small group learning, medical simulation, and clinical as feasible Item writing and ongoing quality improvement for written examinations Preparation for and assessment of students in practical examinations Assisting in the ongoing development and quality of curricula Active participation in scholarship and scholarly activity Participation in faculty development and CME in areas of responsibility Interviewing candidates for the osteopathic medicine degree program Serving on college committees as assigned Effectively communicating through verbal, electronic, and written formats Constructively approaching conflict resolution among team members Helping build a climate of creativity, collaboration, inquiry, and diversity Following policies, procedures, and practices consistent with the vision and mission of the College Other duties as assigned by Chair of OMM The position includes competitive salary, benefits, and a full-time faculty appointment at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine.
