Identifies, diagnoses, and treats patients with a wide variety of disabilities. Participates in program planning, development and implementation. Participates in Quality Improvement. Counsels and instructs students/patients/families and other professionals involved with the patient's rehabilitative needs, monitors patient progress, ensures that recommendations are followed. Maintains clinical records according to established procedures. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : Current Occupational Therapy license with the State of Wisconsin. Current Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license or have submitted application for DPI licensure by date of hire if working in the schools. Current NBCOT license.Master's degree or equivalent in Occupational therapy required.Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.Prefer a minimum of 1 year clinical experience in the pediatric field of Occupational Therapy. Will accept new graduates.Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills to effectively communicate with patient, family and medical staff in a team environment.The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services.40 hours, Full-time Occupational Therapist position working in Pediatric neurodevelopmental therapy clinics at Milwaukee hospital outpatient clinic. Role involves treatment of pediatric population 0-18 year old's with wide range of diagnosis including neurological, genetic, cardiorespiratory, sensory, orthopedic, and trauma, in outpatient clinic located in Milwaukee hospital. Opportunity for collaboration with broader team including therapists, surgeons and physicians, nursing, social work, therapy coordinators and rehab assistants. Looking for candidates with a strong interest in working with a pediatric population, and additional pediatric experience preferably in an outpatient setting.Schedule would preferably be M, T, W, and F working four 10-hour shifts.Children's Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
