Summary Michigan Medicine's Kellogg Eye Center is dedicated to improving lives around the world by enhancing vision. Located in culturally rich and diverse Ann Arbor, the department has over 100 clinical and research faculty and more than 500 employees in 10 different locations in Southeast Michigan. The department is deliberate in fostering a culture centered around Our guiding principles are teamwork, caring, inclusion, innovation, and integrity.We are seeking to enhance our faculty by adding a pediatric optometrist to join our team of providers in a dynamic and creative academic environment. Proficiency in pediatric primary eye care is required. Applicants should be willing to work in more than one office setting, evenings, and/or weekends as needed.This faculty appointment in the University of Michigan Medical School as well as a clinician at Michigan Medicine is ideal for those who thrive in seeing challenging cases, interprofessional relationships, and academic prowess. This full-time position is on the clinical track depending on individual qualifications and career aspirations. Required Qualifications* Successful candidates will have an MD PhD degree, or equivalent, in areas as described above. Documentation of scholarly ability and achievement (record of publications in peer-reviewed journals; record of acquisition of external funding for research programs, research plan, collaborative research experience) is expected. Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated interest in graduate and post-doctoral education and possess critical teaching skills. Underfill Statement This position is posted as Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Instructor. The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon candidate's qualifications. Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
