2422 Associate Field Engineer (FE20) -Electrician

Role and Responsibilities: Full Time position supporting the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) filling a Field Engineer position as an electrician on the SDTS. The position is on board the SDTS located at the BAE Shipyard in San Diego, California. Position Qualifications: •The electrician must possess a minimum of 1 years of electrical experience.•Must have experience with power distribution systems, load transfer systems/switching, circuit installations and troubleshooting• Responsible for the operation of a ship's electrical power generation systems, lighting systems, electrical equipment, and electrical appliances.• Must know shipboard tagout lockout•Must be able to use multi-meter for troubleshooting.•Must be able to work independent completing onboard maintenance requirements.•Must be able to support overnight underway evolutions (includes regular housekeeping/cleaning).•Must be able to take log readings and stand underway watches.•Must have basic computer Microsoft Office skills (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, data entry)•Must serve as member of ship’s Damage Control Fire Party.•Have a valid driver’s license with own transportation.•Must have no criminal record and able to satisfactorily complete background check.•Must be able to work under minimal supervision, perform and complete tasks with limited guidance.•Able to follow company policies and procedures.•Able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed reports. Preferred Skills: •EM “A” and “C” School, EM 2nd class•Familiar with shipboard electrical service. Physical Requirements: •Must be able to climb up and down the shipboard vertical ladders.•Must be able to lift 50 pounds.•Must be able to pass Shipboard Fire Party School.•Must be able to get underway to support mission operations.
