The ideal candidate will work closely with inventors, conduct patent research, and assist in drafting patent applications. Job Overview:Work hand-in-hand with inventors on newly created productsAssist in the identification of patentable inventionsResearch current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable workDraft patent applications with the assistance of the patent teamTrack the patent application process from initial application to granted patent to ensure the team remains on trackComplete ability searches regularlySolve client challenges and respond to client needsRespond to office actions and correspond with the U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeConsistently meet billable hour requirements Duties:Collaborate with inventors to understand newly developed productsIdentify patentable inventions through thorough analysis and researchConduct research on existing patented technologies to inform patentability assessmentsAssist in drafting high-quality patent applications with meticulous attention to detailMonitor the progress of patent applications and ensure timely responses to office actionsPerform ability searches to support patent prosecution effortsAddress client inquiries and challenges related to patent matters Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in science or engineeringMaster’s Degree or PhD desired3+ years of professional experience in patent lawUSPTO Registration requiredBackgrounds in electrical engineering or biotechnology preferred Skills:Strong research and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesProficiency in legal drafting and documentationAttention to detail and accuracy in workAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectivelyCollaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team Formed over a century ago, this firm has grown tremendously with offices throughout the country.
