Medline Industries has an immediate opening for a Director, Indirect Procurement! This position will be based out of our Northfield, IL headquarters and will offer a hybrid model of work. The Director will be responsible for managing Medline's Kitting Division global Indirect Manufacturing, Operations and ESG related spend, which includes all sourcing, category management, project management, consumption management for Global Facility Site Services (Janitorial, Café, Landscaping, Security, Office Services and Documentation Services), MRO, Pest Control, Calibration, Sterilization, Waste, Uniforms, Maintenance and Repair, Packaging Suppliers, Corrugate, Fuel, Pallets, Northbound Transportation, CapEx and all other Operations Indirect spend, including all policies and procurement policies. This person will manage key relationships with Senior Management stakeholders in the Division, Operations (Distribution and Warehousing) and ESG to drive compliance and policy initiatives, gain buy-in and drive change management activities to accomplish each initiative. Major Responsibilities Develop cost savings and strategic sourcing projects while ensuring business continuity and a high level of supplier performance. Work cross-functionally to deliver sourcing and procurement cost savings, risk mitigation projects, and supplier-enabled innovation. Manage spend across 8 sites in the US and Mexico. Lead all levels of supplier market RFI / RFP activities, including execution, readouts and business case implications. Meet with potential suppliers, both incumbents and non-incumbents, answer RFP-related questions from vendors, analyze RFP results and support final vendor(s) awards and supplier selection. Drive annual productivity improvements by developing and ensuring the implementation of ideas to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) for spend categories. Support the development of new policies and procedures to drive savings and lead organizational and operational change management within SPT categories of spend in the US and Mexico. Own and manage end-to-end procurement activities for Large CapEx projects. Lead supplier selection and negotiations for all CapEx Projects. Support as well as lead eBid events, including vendor sourcing, and vendor and contract negotiations. Review major contracts for key areas of spend and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) resource for planning and leading complex negotiations. Develop and communicate sourcing strategy to a diverse group of managers and senior-level professionals. Create alignment with the group and articulate broader procurement transformation. Build supplier management and continuous improvement methodologies (SRM) with key suppliers. Establish and implement a supplier management structure and process for auditing suppliers in Mexico. Lead a global organization with a heavy presence in Mexico Responsible for leveraging Medline Manufacturing and Operations capital purchases, where appropriate. Management responsibilities include: Managing direct and dotted line organization Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies Minimum Job Requirements Covid - 19 Vaccination Please be aware that Medline requires all employees starting in this position to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or related field. Work Experience At least 8 years' experience in wide-ranging roles of increasing responsibilities including experience creating and developing efficient organizations and working in a global, multi-site manufacturing corporation. At least 5 years of sourcing experience - preferably on the Manufacturing, Medical, or Operations Indirect / Facilities related sides. At least 2 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Solid understanding of CapEx, energy management, environmental, safety, facility maintenance and repair, MRO Demonstrated financial acumen with experience in project valuation and business modeling. Strong executive presence, able to manage and influence up the organization including the C-Suite. Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills in diverse settings: one-on-one as well as small and large groups. Strong project management experience and skills; ability to execute under changing conditions and tight timelines. An enthusiastic leader, change agent and people person possessing a professional, positive and energetic attitude. High degree of ethics, integrity and honesty. Position requires travel for business purposes (domestic, global). Negotiating skills for negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.
