Job Purpose Seeking an experienced Manager within the utility overhead and underground construction industry (Overhead and Underground Electrical Distribution) . The Manager provides administrative and technical management for projects and direction of field operations through subordinate managers. This position manages field operations and works with customers, senior leaders, as well as personnel from various other departments.1. Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.2. Interface with field managers, clients, subcontractors, and owners to assure customer satisfaction.3. Plan, coordinate, and/or supervise activities of all operations’ employees on assigned projects.4. Confer with project personnel to update project schedules on a weekly basis.5. Keep direct contact with projects in progress by visiting project sites.6. Assist in disputes on all projects, negotiating as required to reach a resolution of construction problems.7. Oversee all bid projects, including P&L responsibility and management of fleet assets dedicated to bid projects.8. Work with Office Manager to ensure compliance with all internal reporting deadlines.9. Prepare weekly revenue and cost reports.10. Prepare and submit invoicing on a weekly basis.11. Work to resolve all accounts receivable invoices over 51 days.12. Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret policies as required.13. Cultivate and continuously seek to enhance an in-depth understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.14. Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.15. Liaise with estimating to ensure projects comply with cost, revenue, and schedule.16. Examine estimates of material, equipment, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.17. Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.18. Prepare project reports for management, client, or others, including dollar estimates to complete and variance analysis for significant items.19. Analyze projects for adherence to budget and percentage of profitability.20. Directly supervise 3 to 10 supervisors.21. Carry out supervisory responsibilities such as training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints or resolving problems according to company policies.22. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in both a field environment and a professional office setting. This role is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands for finger movement, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Occasional use of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners. Also, this position requires some lifting. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Minimum Qualifications 8 or more years of significant field experience. 5 years of previous supervisory experience.
