Our field technicians get hands-on experience collecting data while spending most of their time outdoors in a hardhat rather than in a cubicle.As a key member of the Ambient team, this role will be responsible for a full range of duties including: * Assist in preparation, deployment, and all sampling aspects of air monitoring activities. * Independently and effectively assemble, operate, and troubleshoot ambient air testing equipment. * Ensure project preparation is complete before going into the field; this includes preparation, sample organization, repair, and calibration. * Practice safety methods and procedures, and report all potential dangers, hazards, or unsafe work practices to supervisor. * Provide excellent customer service to all clients. * Assist with shop and equipment maintenance.Internship Program: * Welcome Program with HR partners, Operations leaders, and a previous intern * Mentorship and in-field training * Career Guidance * Mid and End of Session Evaluations * Work on real project with significant level of business impact * Discover which skills you need to develop through constructive feedback * Develop valuable networks and contracts for future career opportunitiesYOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. We are looking for ambitious students who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and meet the following criteria: * Ability to work in industrial settings & outdoors * Ability to travel up to fifty percent of the time * Valid driver's license * Working knowledge of computer software, such as MS Office 365, Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with proven time management and prioritization skillsEducational Requirements: * To be eligible for an internship you should be an actively enrolled student in an Environmental or Science Focused degree program * You must have a minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.2 and be a current junior or senior. (You are required to upload a copy of your most recent transcripts; as part of your application.)Safety/Drug Screening: * Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening * Must be able to successfully pass a urine, alcohol, and hair test * Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights * Ability to pass an OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical Evaluation, and don respiratory equipmentSoft Skills: * Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills * Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management * Strong problem solving and analytical skills * Able to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e., self-starter, self-motivated) * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Ability to think and act strategically and proactively * Resourcefulness, flexibility, and resiliency to operate in a dynamic work environmentSchedule/Essential Physical Functions Disclaimer:The schedule and essential physical functions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
