Join a dynamic and diverse team supporting the military as part of your day to day dutiesWe are seeking a reliable and hard-working Laborer Ship Provisioning to join our team in San DiegoThis position plays a crucial role in the successful operation of provisioning ships with necessary supplies and equipment for their missionsOur Laborer position participates in the Ability One program; allowing individuals with significant disabilities to work in various positions within our Government Contracted positionsBenefits Health and Welfare Benefit Dental and Vision coverage option PTO days based on contract Responsibilities: 1Assist with loading and unloading provisions unto various naval ships. 2Ensure accurate counting and recording of all incoming and outgoing items. 3Sort, organize, and label supplies and equipment in designated storage areas. 4Pack and secure supplies for safe transportation. 5Prepare orders and validate accuracy against shipping instructions and documentation. 6Conduct inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and assist with inventory management. 7Complete and maintain paperwork and records related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control. 9Follow proper safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment. 10Collaborate with team members and management to ensure a smooth operation. 11Provide assistance in other tasks as assigned by the SupervisorRequirements: 1High school diploma or equivalent qualification. 2Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage. 3Physical fitness and capability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60lbs. 5Excellent organizational and time management skills. 6Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 7Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 8Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.. 9Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications: 1Forklift certification or experience operating a forklift. 2Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to warehousing operations. 3Experience working in a military or naval environmentEnvironmental: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hearThe employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this jobReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsThe employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditionsThe employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and extreme heatThe employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibrationThe noise level in the work environment is usually loudThis position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the efficient provision of supplies to shipsIf you are a reliable and motivated individual with a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply for the position of Laborer Ship Provisioning.
