Description:
To establish an Eligibility List for the classification of Firefighter-Paramedic and Firefighter-EMT , the City of Middletown will be accepting applications and will conduct an open competitive examination. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by courses in fire science technology or equivalent experience or training; possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License. Applicants must provide a copy of current Ohio Firefighter and EMT Certifications at time of application or provide proof of enrollment in a Firefighter and EMT program at time of application. Firefighter-Paramedic applicants must obtain their Ohio Firefighter and Paramedic State Certifications prior to their appointment. Recruitment and selection process to include written examination, interview, polygraph, medical exam, drug test, and physical agility (CPAT or Firefighter Mile, must provide documented proof). The CPAT or Firefighter Mile must have been within 12 months of date of the written exam or be completed within 30 days of notification of a passing written score. The written examination will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Starting salary: Firefighter-EMT $47,973; Firefighter-Paramedic $54,901 annually with excellent benefits and additional certification pay.
