Masco Research and Development is looking for a specialist in materials simulation and testing who enjoys problem-solving and working in a team environment. We strive to provide technical expertise that enables our business units to make informed decisions. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to provide your insights and findings alongside a group of technical specialists to achieve the best outcomes in product development, product failure analysis, and product compliance. Responsibilities: The position offers outstanding and exciting challenges owing to the vast array of products in Masco's portfolio. In this position, you will partner with multiple highly motivated and hardworking technical leaders around the organization to develop new products and optimize existing product lines. As a part of the Masco R&D team, you will work to review product designs, develop applicable test approaches, design and build test fixtures, interpret data, and report findings to partners across our enterprise. Specific skills include: BS or MS degree in materials science or a related field. Experience with Creo Simulate, Creo Parametric, and Abaqus software. Experience with prototyping techniques, such as 3D printing. Knowledgeable with manufacturing processes such as die casting, injection molding, thermoforming, and extrusion. Comfortable with hands-on projects, such as test fixture assembly and maintenance. Ability to handle diverse assignments concurrently. Experience with new product development is a plus. Experience with sensing techniques (especially those used for water) is a plus. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Specific responsibilities include: Solve difficult and complex problems using a broad perspective to identify solutions. Build and maintain engineering tools for design and prototyping at Masco R&D. Coordinate with business units to help support their needs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) programs. Collaborate with Masco R&D and Masco Business Unit personnel to assist in new product development (NPD) or design improvement projects. Work with Laboratory staff to perform physical testing as needed. Assist in the design and creation of test fixtures to support Business Unit (BU) testing needs. Coordinate with other departments at Masco R&D to support long-term research and NPD initiatives. Organize and present results to small teams (3-6 people) and larger groups (~20 people).
