About the role This position is responsible for the research, development, and application of software as it relates to new and existing products. As required, this position may encompass the following steps of the product life cycle: specification, design, implementation, testing, release, and manufacturing support. Working under moderate supervision the incumbent typically works on moderately complex projects/assignments. Responsibilities Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications Support and/or install software applications/operating systems Develop technical and software specifications for products and systems Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and documentation of software Write efficient code for basic to intermediate level programming assignments Research and develop new software modules that would be useful for the company Work with Product Management in the various stages of product development, as required Prepare statement of works, project plans Keep lines of communication open on status of assigned projects and activities Work with Document Control to create a document package that completely specifies the design and implementation of an application; Responsible for implementing documentation updates and changes to existing applications Research new products, technologies and applications Other duties as assigned Design and implement elegant, highly quality applications with a simple customer experience Peer reviews for code and design Develop technical and software specifications for products and systems EMC&A- New Orleans, LA Mobile Applications Developer Design and development of hybrid mobile applications using Cordova, AngularJS and Ionic Work closely with hardware and embedded engineers to architect solutions that allows mobile applications to communicate to embedded devices Work closely with UX and graphic designers to develop user interfaces Front-End Web Developer Design and development of cross-platform, responsive web applications for a variety of platforms Integration of front-end applications with REST- based APIs Work closely with UX and graphic designers to develop user interfaces Cloud Services Developer Designing and implementing backend systems that are scalable, reliable, and responsive Development of new cloud service APIs, units tests, and client libraries as needed Assist engineering/apps teams with integration of cloud service APIs & client libraries as needed Qualifications Excellent documentation skills; may include ERDs, Mockups, UMLS, and Gaunt Charts Excellent teamwork, communication and organizational skills with a keen focus to detail Understanding of electrical safety Ability to manage and lead small to midsize projects Working knowledge of .NET framework for web and windows based application May also be required to know, AJAX, ASP, ADO, VB.net, HTML, JAVA Scripting, Transact SQL, SQL Server, XML/XSLT, Perl, C#, . IIS, Visual Studio.NET, Macromedia Development Suite Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle as recommended by Microsoft M any need to know how to prototype software, e.g. GUI into production quality software Excellent design and development of relational databases as stated within the rules of normalization Local Skills EMC&A New Orleans Mobile Applications Developer Ability to develop mobile applications for iOS and Android Knowledge and use of JavaScript Ability to develop mobile applications with AngularJS, Cordova, Gulp, and Ionic Familiarity with Objective-C, Swift, or JAVA a plus Familiarity with Node.js Knowledge of Bluetooth LE and/or IP communications Front-End Web Developer Strong understanding of web technologies and design Ability to develop applications with cross-browser compatibly and responsive site design with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS Strong knowledge of usability and user experience as it relates to front-end design Familiarly with package managers such as node and bower Familiarity with mobile application development a plus Cloud Service Developer Advanced knowledge of JavaScript Proficient in developing with Node.js Ability to develop web service APIs Knowledge of popular frameworks, such as express.js and loopback Education & Experience Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science MS Certified Application Developer (MCAD) or MS Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) preferred 2-5 years of programming experience What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
