With great enthusiasm, we would like to announce the Duke Department of Pediatrics-Division of Emergency Medicine is seeking an outstanding emergency medicine physician to deliver the highest quality care to patients and their families. Candidates must be board-certified or eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM). Candidates must also have or be eligible for a North Carolina medical license. The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division currently consists of thirteen faculty. Their academic interests include quality improvement, medical education, ultrasound, simulation, procedural sedation, informatics, advocacy, disparities and resuscitation. Education of learners at the resident and medical student levels is an integral and essential component of the division's mission. The Duke Children's Hospital is a "hospital within a hospital," with in-patient facilities housed within the Duke Central Tower and the Duke University Hospital, including a 20 bed pediatric intensive care unit, a 20 bed pediatric cardiac intensive care unit, and a 67 bed neonatal intensive care unit. Duke Children's Hospital is ranked among the nation's finest in the U.S. News & World Report's Best Children's Hospitals rankings of No. 1 in North Carolina and No. 1 (tied) in the Southeast.
