In the wide-open spaces of beautiful West Texas, the sister churches of First Methodist Church of Pecos, Texas, and the Balmorhea Methodist Church of Balmorhea, Texas, are seeking a dedicated, full-time pastor to lead and shepherd them.We are praying for someone who preaches the inerrant Word of God. The congregations of these two independent Methodist churches are small in size, but great in faith. With your help, we desire to grow and spread Jesus Christ’s message throughout our communities.Your general pastoral duties, aside from the Sunday services at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., will require you to spend part of the week in Pecos and part of the week in Balmorhea ministering to the congregations of these communities. We desire your guidance for developing Sunday school and youth programs and Bible studies.These two towns, surrounded by ranches and farms, are just forty miles apart and a church vehicle with Sirius XM is provided for your use.Pecos is the home of the world’s first rodeo, which began back in 1883 and continues today. It is also known for its world-famous Pecos cantaloupe.Balmorhea is the gateway to the beautiful Davis Mountains. The state park here has the world’s largest spring-fed swimming pool.The parsonage in Pecos is a lovingly-restored and remodeled historical home, with four bedrooms and two baths on a large lot, just blocks from the First Methodist Church.We offer health insurance, a retirement plan, and a competitive salary.
