Manufacturing Engineer - 1

Description:
Position Purpose:Develop and implement engineering solutions for new products. Develop operator detail instructions for processes.. Active communication with hourly group assisting with needs and process improvements. Ability to utilize a structure problem solving approach when working to resolve issues. Essential Functions: * Support manufacturing to protect the customer * Member of product launch teams for manufacturing engineering support * Optimize machining programs to allow flexibility * Optimize tool and insert selection to increase productivity * Decrease setup and changeover times. * Develop and maintain operator work instructions for all products. * Define future technology requirements * Assist in defining long-range capital planning * Selection, justification and implementation of CNC equipment * Design and development and implementation of CNC fixtures * Improve effectiveness of product and process change method * Refinement of machining process through tooling and methods optimization * Optimization of labor by implementing concurrent work * Assist product launch teams with Industrial Engineering support * Improve manufacturing capabilities and capacities * Validate routers for specified work centers * Analyze existing procedures & processes for improvements * Develop and maintain operator work instructions for Kitting/Distribution operations and assigned Assembly Cells. * Support Kitting and Packaging lines, Beam and Saddle Assembly/Kitting * Plant Layout * Define future technology requirementsEducation and Training * Bachelor's degree required * 5+ years' experience required * Experience with lean manufacturing environments * AutoCad, NX, MSOffice, Mastercam, Mpact, or similar software/programming experience * Automotive background a plus * Capital equipment procurement background a plus * Preventative Maintenance and TPM a plus * Assembly experience a plusMinimum Qualifications * Knowledge of CNC machining centers * Knowledge of macro programming preferred * Knowledge of tooling selection and optimization * Hydraulic fixture design skills required * Background in team approach to problem solving * Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a time bound schedule required * Knowledge of IATF16949 * CNC machining knowledge * Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a time bound schedule required. * Background in team approach to problem solving required * Working knowledge of labor and machining standards preferredHendrickson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
