Who We Are: The New Orleans JCC is a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool, a leader in New Orleans early childhood education, a fun-filled summer day camp and so much more. It is a place for adults to take an exercise class, an art class, or a dance class. A place for children and teens to experience learning through enrichment classes, sports leagues, family activities, and summer camps. The JCC is built on Jewish values but is welcome to everyone.The mission of the New Orleans Jewish Community Center is to promote and ensure the well-being of our Jewish community and to instill an understanding of Judaism and its heritage by providing a Center where all can enjoy, learn, experience, and share in quality activities in a Jewish environment.We are seeking seasonal Pool Greeters to join our team at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center for our upcoming 2024 Summer Camp Program. As a Pool Greeter, your primary responsibilities will be to provide an excellent member service experience in the pool area and to create a positive and welcoming environment. What You'll Do: Be responsible for greeting members in a courteous manner. Implement the Test, Mark, and Protect policy as written for ages 5-12 and data input into excel. Must be able to enter and exit the pool frequently to administer water competency. Be able to meet all JCC standards for professionalism in conduct and appearance at all times. Consistently offer the highest level of personalized member service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude. Complete light and occasional cleaning duties. Maintain daily stats of membership attendance. Observe all areas of the pool with clear vision. Ability to hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment. Must work well with varying age groups of children. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme heat conditions for long periods. Must be able to work in direct sunlight for extended periods. Perks! We are happy to offer a new incentive program where we will cover the cost of the American Red Cross lifeguard certification if you work for the Jewish Community Center for the summer season, (May 12, 2024 - September 29, 2024). The following certifications are eligible for employment at both Uptown and Metairie locations: Lifeguarding (including deep water) and Shallow Water up to 5, 6, or 7 feet. Aquatics Attraction certification is not eligible.
