Description:
The Nursing Director for the PCU/ICU department is the first-line manager designated for this specific nursing area, its patient population, and assigned staff. With 24-hour responsibility for unit activity, the Nursing Director plans, coordinates, and directs fiscal, personnel, and patient care activities to ensure that standards of care and practice are met in a cost-effective manner. Responsible for integrating the nursing area(s) into the overall functioning of the organization. Qualifications: Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum Work Experience: Previous supervisory experience in nursing required. Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Current clinical competence in an area relevant to the patient population. Certifications/License: Current unencumbered multistate or North Carolina Nursing License. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association. Must-Haves: Current unencumbered multistate or North Carolina Nursing License (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred. Previous supervisory experience in nursing is required. Nice-To-Haves: At least 3 years of healthcare leadership experience.
