A Brief Overview Functions as a member of a support team for Early Head Start Program families (approximately 300 people, including expectant parents and infants, toddlers, and their parents/primary caregivers). Assists Child Development & Mental Health Manager in the coordination of the Home Visiting Unit by coordinating group socializations, attending Family Review Team Meetings and supporting all program efforts to meet HS Program Standards. Provides direct services to expectant parents, infants, toddlers and their families by: partnering with families to complete ongoing developmental and sensory screenings; facilitating families in participating in developmentally appropriate activities that promote development in all developmental domains during weekly home visits and bi-monthly parent/child socialization groups; identifying and providing families appropriate information, referrals and linkages regarding child development, health and wellness and community resources; and documenting all interactions with families in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Provides reflective leadership of home visitors on team. Coordinates and provides team coverage for home visitors. Supports effective collaboration, cooperation and partnership of their team, families, coworkers, managers, Policy Council members, volunteers, students, and community organizations. Assists the Child Development & Mental Health Manager in the coordination of the Home Visiting Unit by coordinating bi-monthly group socializations, overseeing design and completion of unit bulletin boards, attending Family Review Team Meetings, supporting all program efforts to meet HS Program Standards and completing special projects as assigned. Provides reflective leadership of home visitors on team by conducting monthly team coordination meetings, individual mentoring sessions and home visit observations. Coordinates and provides team coverage for home visits to ensure responsibilities for home visits and parent-child groups during staff absences are met. Supports the ongoing, effective collaboration, cooperation and partnership of their team, families, coworkers, managers, Policy Council members, volunteers, students, and community organizations. Performs other related duties as needed to assist other EHS staff, and other CHOP staff, and the Policy Council, in the operations of the program. Education Qualifications Associate's Degree Childhood Education or Childhood Special Education Required Bachelor's Degree Child Development or comparable course of study Preferred Experience Qualifications At least two (2) years experience working with young children ages birth to 36 months old, in a variety of group and/or family settings, including family child care, center and/or home-based programming. Required Skills and Abilities Training in family centered care for infants and toddlers at environmental, biological, established risk, particularly infants and toddlers at risk for or delayed in social-emotional development. (Required proficiency) Bilingual skills (English/Spanish and English/ASL) and experience preferred.
