As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to join our successful Novi team immediately. We are looking for a talented individual with solid professional skills in manufacturing. What you will be doing: Implements and maintains procedures relating to efficient manufacturing practices Evaluate existing and new manufacturing processes, workflows, facility layouts & equipment, based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed, to optimize performance Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety & environmental regulations Developing effective automated and non-automated systems Test new and existing production procedures through engineering builds Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources Resolve issues and delays in production Root-cause corrective actions (customer and internally initiated) Manage and conduct employee training for productivity improvement projects and NPI launches Identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve process challenges In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles Establish effective and efficient work sequences Drives and creates continuous improvement activities Solve existing manufacturing problems Develops, prepares, and/or maintains documentation pertaining to manufacturing processes, systems operation, and other technical processes Develops and drives implementation of best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output. Including, but not limited to: scrap reduction cycle time reduction downtime reduction FPY increase OEE increase Gathers and collects data from production lines (PPH, labor, material) to aid in decision making and process improvement effort prioritization Supports quality initiatives and work with team to develop the necessary poke yokes to improve quality Other duties as specified by your Manager What you bring along: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience Minimum five years related experience in manufacturing Ability to collaborate with program managers, manufacturing leads, and functional leads Strong analytical skills Excellent problem-solving skills Relevant technological knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills Understanding of drawing requirements and bill of materials Other details: Our team includes members with a wide diversity of cultural and technical backgrounds, ages, and experiences.
