Practice Area: Product Liability Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney with a strong background in product liability defense work, particularly with medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturer clients. The Mid-Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of legal tasks related to product liability defense work, including complex multi-district matters and individual cases. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, communication skills, and a dedicated interest and experience in this field. Duties:Drafting pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motionsPreparing and responding to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissionTaking and defending fact, party, and expert depositionsEngaging in motion practice, including drafting and arguing motions in courtConducting court appearances and representing clients in hearings and other proceedings Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing litigatorExperience in product liability defense work, particularly with medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturer clientsFormer trial-level clerkships are a plusExceptional research, writing, and communication skillsA scientific background is a plusEntrepreneurial orientation is desirable Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Skills:Proficiency in product liability defense workStrong research, writing, and communication skillsAbility to handle complex multi-district matters and individual casesExperience with drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and taking depositionsCourtroom advocacy skills Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Additional Skills (Preferred):Scientific backgroundTrial-level clerkship experience Benefits:The firm offers a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and 401k.
