Introduction to AM General AM General develops and builds specialized ground vehicle systems that get the US Armed Services and our allies to and from their mission safely. Our innovative spirit delivers advanced, rugged, resilient, and dependable mobility solutions. DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES Ensure all freight loads are covered in a timely manner. Ensure carriers are following company protocols. Negotiate, communicate effectively, with teams across the organization. Handle details such as claims (overages, shortages, and damages) and breakdowns. Demonstrate ability to continuously multi-task and prioritize work assignments. Work with procurement and material teams to create optimal cost and service offerings. Participate in special projects to drive continuous improvement. Develop and manage key carrier metrics. Plan loads while engaging with multiple stakeholders. Proactively resolve urgent customer situations to ensure timely product delivery. Act as the decision maker for transportation issues while "on call" and after-hours rotation Work with carriers to ensure accuracy of freight bills. Anticipate and proactively communicate delivery issues to internal customers. Apply creative solutions to resolve service issues. KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS 2+ years of experience in logistics operations or equivalent experience Knowledge of truck transportation, plant logistics and warehouse operations a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint SAP experience a plus Attention to detail and high sense of urgency is mandatory.
