The ideal candidate will have expertise in representing debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases and distressed situations, with a focus on corporate transactions and bankruptcy matters. Duties:Represent debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases and distressed situations.Support clients in complex corporate restructuring transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and debt restructuring.Work with partners to represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings related to business restructuring matters.Conduct in-depth legal analyses to assess the legal implications of business restructuring, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Draft chapter 11 filings, term sheets, disclosure statements, plans of reorganization, settlements, and asset purchase agreements.Maintain effective communication with clients, creditors, and other stakeholders involved in the restructuring process.Stay current on legal developments, precedents, and regulations relevant to business restructuring. Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Admission to practice in the state of Illinois or eligibility to become admitted quickly. Experience:3-4 years of proven experience in business restructuring law, with a focus on corporate transactions and bankruptcy. Skills:Strong understanding of bankruptcy laws, creditor rights, and restructuring strategies.Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Effective communication with clients and counterparts.
