GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Thomas Foods International, USA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our growing Finance and Accounting Team in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. This role's main priority will be leading TFI, USA's operating tax principles and tax function in house. In addition, this role will be a strong contributor for the accounting organization. In this fast pace, growing environment, we are looking for an individual to come in and make a big impact to the finance organization and be a leader for the finance leadership team.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ------------------ Serve as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for all tax-related itemsLead the effort of insourcing federal and state compliance filings, while coordinating review process with an outside firmCalculate and make quarterly estimated tax payments, as requiredResponsible for the insourcing of our annual provision for income tax analysisPrepare tax account journal entries and reconciliations and work with the Corporate Controller to ensure US GAAP complianceHandle quarterly state sales tax filingsEvaluate and potentially insource our quarterly and annual payroll tax filingsHandle county/local property tax filings at various locationsHandle other local registrations as required, such as state annual business license registrationsEvaluate and perform 1042 filingsPursue tax credits, such as for investments, R&DStay up to date on tax matters at the federal, state and local level; weigh in on the tax impact of various business decisions we are contemplatingPerform detailed Nexus Analysis and support Transfer Pricing projects with global tax officeResearch and consult on technical matters and special projectsLiaise with our Australian global tax officePartner with the Corporate Controller and take on tasks as part of month end as time permitsSupport the Vendor maintenance processJOB REQUIREMENTS:BA or BS degree is required; Masters in Tax is preferredCPA License Required5+ years of experience in accountingStrong understanding of accounting concepts, US GAAP and applicationsStrong technical tax knowledge, research capabilities, analytical and qualitative skills, including the ability to conceptualize and think creativelyTrack record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environmentStrong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritizeBe a team player, positive and pro-active attitude
