Virginia Health Services is hiring a Resident Care Assistant for the Memory Care Unit at Walter Reed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility located in Gloucester, VA. This is a Part Time or Full Time position, for Evening Shift. The Resident Care Assistant has the following responsibilities: Maintains resident rooms and nursing unit in accordance with infection control standards. Maintains confidentiality of all resident information. Complies with established policies and procedures. Provides a comfortable, clean and safe environment for residents and assures that Residents' Rights are honored and protected. Works with the interdisciplinary team to assist in achieving planned resident goals. Participates in orientation and in-service education programs Assumes duties at any Virginia Health Services unit/facility as required. Understands the function of the VHS Compliance Program, HIPAA Regulations and Privacy Policy as outlined in the employee handbook. Requirements: Gerontological experience preferred. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
