Summary Under general direction, responsible for designing and/or creating, maintaining, deploying, and managing SSRS reports for internal business teams and our customers. Candidates will work collaboratively with IT staff, and business stakeholders to create, maintain, and support analytic reports and BI dashboards in a compliant, regulated environment. Escalate concerns to project management or Team Lead, assist in determining best practices and provide suggestions on how to improve current practices. The position supports required data integration, reporting and transformation processes crucial to the implementation and function of the Gainwell Medicaid Fiscal Agent services product. Serves as a team leader, coordinating team members' activities, research on reporting tasks, requirement analysis, design of data specifications and mapping documents. Ability to effectively track team progress and report to Gainwell leaders, clients and partners. The lead data analyst will use SQL to build complex queries and will refine those queries into reports within the SSRS tool. Duties and Responsibilities o Facilitates and/or participates in JAD (Joint Application Design), RAD (Rapid Application Development) and DSD (Design Specifications Document) sessions to define and understand the business requirements and present detailed systems design documentation for reports, data interface files, data conversion and any other method of data exchange.o Works aggressively to define project scope. Ties data interface roster elements back to a valid requirement. Works with the customer and account management to control the scope of the project.o Responds to action items by assigned due dates.o Escalates concerns to project management, such as delays or risks of delays as early as possible.o Creates accurate queries, reports, data mapping documents according to the mapping process.o Works toward delivering a first draft solution to ETL developers for coding, by rapidly understanding which details about the mapping can be deferred.o Works closely with configuration team to ensure synchronicity of configuration to interfaces and mappings.o Uses SQL, data models, data element dictionary and schema to perform data and business analysis.o Work with customers, Business SME's and application development teams to understand requirementso Proactively engage on continuous improvement effortso Experience diagnosing and resolving in incident tickets and errorso Uses SQL, data models, data element dictionary and schema to perform data and business analysiso Generate reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) using table control, matrix control for cross tab reports.o Integrate SSRS reports with Tableau using features such as data pops, filtering and authoring and deploy them on Dashboard.o Developed several behavioral reports and data points creating complex SQL queries and stored procedures using SSRS and Excel 2007.o Created Cross-Tab, Drill-down, Drill-down and Sub-Report using and linked reports using SQLSERVER Reporting Services (SSRS)o This individual is responsible for understanding business data and performing quality assurance testing to ensure the data presented is correct.o Create documentation and best practiceso At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft SQL Server Database, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS is requiredo Supports Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, System Testing, and User Acceptance Testing. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities o 4 to 5 years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server BI Suite SSRSo 4 to 5 years of experience with MS-SQL scripting (required)o 3+ years SQL Server version 2014 or higher (required)o Experience in a Healthcare IT working with claims, member and provider data strongly desired.o Analytical skills in a SQL environmento Experience with QNXT or FACETS Healthcare Payer Platforms preferredo Previous team leadership with analyzing, mentoring, monitoring healthcare plan data focusing on medical claim and financial processing member eligibility processing, provider networks and MCO contract details, auditing and reporting in compliance with Federal and State requirementso Knowledge of Payment Reform methodologies under the Affordable Care Act and related initiatives in the Medicaid spaceo Ability to build complex queries and reports using Microsoft SQL.o Analytical and data analysis skills using Microsoft SQL (required)o Excellent verbal and written communication skillso Ability to abide by Gainwell policieso Ability to maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of worko Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)o Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, and customerso Preferred 5-10 years in Medicaid IT, including experience with HIPAA code sets and business ruleso Preferred 2+ years' experience with state Medicaid agencies and/or vendors focusing on analysis or provider, member and claims data.
