The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Construction Quality Control Engineer to support with submittal reviews, daily reports and to fill in for vacation/sick time for the Quality Control Manager on commercial construction projects to maintain quality on the project. This position is a great opportunity for an individual to join a strong, successful and highly-respected team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Fill in for QCM as needed for DOD projects Maintain quality control by frequent and regular inspection of work and work-in-progress as related to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems when filling in for QCM Read and interpret specifications, plans and resource documents to determine requirements and planning procedures as outlined in the RFP Establish and manage the submittal review/approval process Create, manage, process and log RFIs and submittals Track potential changes through the request for change (RFC) system Identify and document close-out procedures including a checklist Attend and participate in project meetings Complete all reports and records in an accurate and timely manner Maintain an orderly and clean presence on the jobsite Complete job close-out procedures Able to work in Quality Control System (QCS)/ USACE Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) This is a hybrid position, traveling will be required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The characteristics listed below are representative of those sought to perform this job successfully. Working knowledge of field construction including systems, practices, general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods and sequencing Experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance Strong work ethic with a passion to fulfill commitments Remarkable enthusiasm Sincere obligation to client satisfaction Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, multi-tasking, communication and conflict management skills Computer knowledge in sending emails, daily reports, construction look-ahead schedules, and iPad use EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE Four year degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction or Building Science. 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer on a similar size and type of construction contract 2 years of experience as a QC Manager (Preferred) Current certificate of completion of Construction Quality Managers for Contractors course, a plus Design/Build experience is a plus Procore experience is a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
