Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE) is seeking to hire a full-time Construction Materials Testing Group Lead for the company's Columbia, SC branch office. The main responsibility for this role will be managing a team of technicians and various construction projects to service a wide range of clients in the Midland area. Specific tasks will include, but not be limited to, the oversight and review of daily inspection reports for the testing of soils; reinforced concrete and masonry; modular retaining wall construction; monitoring of asphalt placement; structural steel inspections; and evaluation of laboratory test data. The Construction Materials Testing Group Lead will be responsible for training and mentoring technicians and providing guidance on testing procedures. The successful candidate will encourage and support certification programs for technicians and other staff members to enhance the technical skills of the team. This individual will make project site visits to review construction activities, review site inspector activities, develop relationships with contractors and owners, as well as ensure all reports are reviewed, signed, and provided as a deliverable to the client and project distribution in a timely manner. This position earns a competitive salary, depending on experience and certification, as well as generous benefits. PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of South Carolina. 5+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Needs to be able to manage multiple on-going projects, scheduling, and evaluation or review of project budgets. Needs to be able to clearly communicate and work effectively with clients and other department staff. Must be self-motivated and can effectively manage time and work priorities.
