Job Title: Pharmacist in Charge Location: South Salt Lake City, UT Schedule: Full-time Annual Salary: Starting at $135,000-$145,000 depending on experience Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, voluntary 403 b matching retirement, PTO, paid holidays, CME, $100,000.00 company paid Life and Accidental Death of Dismemberment insurance. Positions Supervised : Staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and support staff Reports to: Pharmacy Director General Description: Provides pharmacy services to Midtown Community Health Center patients. Provides direction and management for pharmacy services, including participation in performance improvement activities and establishment of policies and procedures. Assists in managing cash flow through adequate inventory, purchasing and billing practices. Prepares and maintains all necessary records required by federal, state and local regulations. Must be willing to travel to Ogden, UT for training. Responsibilities: Adheres to and complies with Midtown's policies and procedures Addresses problems positively and listens non-defensively Maintains appropriate patient and staff confidentiality Attends and actively participates in team meetings and other meetings as required Participates in performance improvement initiatives Treats all patients, visitors and co-workers with respect and dignity Arrives to work on time and completes agreed upon schedule Represents Midtown positively to the public and in the community Maintains open lines of communication Organize and direct pharmacy workflow to provide the highest level of quality care and service Performs prescription filling duties and prescription checking functions Acts as the manager on duty, supervise pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists engaged in preparing, packaging and labeling prescriptions, verifying preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections Provides consultation to Midtown medical providers and/or patients on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects; provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate Ensures correct and complete entry of new prescriptions Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and recordkeeping systems for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals Performs routine quality control testing of equipment, environment and record keeping as required by federal, state and local regulations Facilitates computerized billing Insurance eligibility screening for all patients Coordinates inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals and supplies with attention to maintaining positive cash flow Ensures that outdates and overstocks are handled appropriately Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team on patient care standards and enhancement of operations Participates in performance improvement and risk management activities Ability to supervise and train assigned staff and students Provides education, guidance and training to staff, students, pharmacy interns and or trainees during course of work and monitors performance Coordinates special projects to enhance overall patient care in accordance with the mission of Midtown Operates within regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance within pharmacy operations, HRSA 340B program, medication quality assurance, security, and disposal of hazardous waste medications Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations Assists in the development of Midtown's Health Care Plan Participates in the development and implementation of programs and services to meet federal and other granting agency requirements Develops and maintains professional relationships with vendors, community partners, funding agencies and regulatory bodies as necessary Promotes the activities of Midtown Utilizes methods, techniques, and approaches to the delivery of care that are consistent with the age group of the patient Ability to perform basic patient assessments and referrals Documents all services as required by law Participates in continuing education as necessary for licensure Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. Licensed to provide pharmacy services in the State of Utah to dispense both controlled and non-controlled substances. Three to five years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Practical experience providing services to medically underserved population preferred. Current CPR Certificate Other Skills: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written in English and Spanish preferred.
